ABOUT CONFERENCE
ABOUT CONFERENCE
It is our great pleasure to announce the International Conference on Non-linear Analysis and Optimization (ICAN-OPT_NEPAL_2025) that will be held on May 08 -10, 2025 (Baishakh 25 – 27, 2082) at Kathmandu University, Nepal. It includes a Workshop on Fixed Point Theory and Applications” is organized by Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel in collaboration of Tribhuvan University, Nepal Sanskrit University and Nepal Mathematical Society. Dhulikhel is a municipality situated just 30 kilometers southeast of Kathmandu connecting two major highways; BP highway (India) and Araniko highway (China).
Mathematics always plays a vital role in the society with its tremendous applications in various disciplines from applied science to social sciences. The topics of the conference are of interest in its own right and it also serves to lay the foundation for different fields of pure and applied mathematics. Researchers across the world are actively involved in analyzing and developing different theories of mathematics which are applicable to real world problems.
The Non-linear analysis is a broad, interdisciplinary field characterized by a remarkable mixture of analysis, topology and applications. Its concepts and techniques provide the tools for developing more realistic and accurate models for variety of phenomena encountered in fields ranging from Engineering, and Chemistry to Economics and Biology. On the other hand, Optimization comes from the same root as “Optimal” which means “Best”, is one of the most powerful tools in process integration. As a branch of applied mathematics, Optimization involves the selection of the “Best” solution from among the set of candidate solutions.
The rich variety of topics, both theoretical & applied, makes both non-linear and optimization useful to everyone. The Topic of the Conference includes (but NOT limited to):
The topics of the conference will cover all aspects of the following items:
- Non-linear Analysis, Fixed point theory, Operator Theory
- Complex Analysis, Harmonic Analysis, Wavelet Analysis, Special Functions
- Functional Analysis, Fourier Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Convex Analysis
- Optimization Theory, Queueing Theory, Finance & Economics
- Differential Equations, Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Modelling
- Data Science and Machine Learning
The conference intends to bring together experts, faculties, students and researchers from classical and applied mathematics and from a variety of many other disciplines, where mathematics finds its numerous applications. The primary objective of the conference is to offer a common platform to interact with each other, to share their knowledge and experiences as well as to exchange their innovative ideas, views, and discuss the topics of mutual interests in the challenging and widely applied domain of mathematical analysis. The conference also offers the participants an opportunity to be familiar with the contemporary developments and recent trends in the subject and acquaint the young researchers. The conference in physical mode will brings the experts as well as the participants closer to each other.
The selected papers after thorough reviewing process will also be considered for possible publications in the special issue of Kathmandu University Journal of Science, Engineering and Technology (KUSET), a NepJOL indexed journal as per strict guidelines. For more details, one can visit: https://journals.ku.edu.np/kuset
The conference committee cordially invites all who are interested faculty members and PhD/MPhil students to send their recent results relative to the topic of the conference.
We are looking forward to welcoming you all in our beautiful country Nepal.
Kathmandu University
Kathmandu University (www.ku.edu.np) was established in November 1991, as an autonomous, not for profit, non-government public institution dedicated to maintain the high standard of academic excellence. It is a leading University of Nepal and is located mountainous landscape at Dhulikhel Municipality 30 km east from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
University has various undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate (MPhil, PhD, Postdoc) programs under its seven schools; School of Science, School of Engineering, School of Management, School of Art, School of Education, School of Medical Science and School of Law. It has been successfully collaborating with more than fifty reputed international University and institutions.
The School of Science (https://sos.ku.edu.np) is a signatory school of KU established in July 1992. It has six departments. The strength of this school is highly qualified and senior faculties who are regularly involved in teaching, research and project activities. It offers both fundamental as well as applied courses from undergraduate to post-graduate levels.
The Department of Mathematics (https://math.ku.edu.np) earlier known as Department of Mathematical Sciences is one of the leading Department of KU. It offers BSc Computational Mathematics and MSc Computational Mathematics. The department also offers MPhil, PhD in Mathematics. The MPhil program in Mathematics and Statistics in the Department is the first in the country.
The School of Management (KUSOM) (https://som.ku.edu.np) established in August 1993, has been a pioneer in Nepal’s education sector, introducing the first graduate program at Kathmandu University and kick-starting the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in the country. Even after two decades, KUSOM maintains its top position as Nepal’s premier business school with five specialized departments. The Department of Management Science and Information, offers a dynamic hub encompassing Mathematics, Statistics, Optimization, Information Systems, Operations and Project Management, and Research Methods, further enhancing the school’s academic offerings.
Tribhuvan University
Tribhuvan University (TU) (https://tu.edu.np) was established on July 14, 1959 and is the oldest and the largest university in Nepal. There are five technical institutes and four general faculties. The university offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, MPhil and PhD degree in different disciplines at its technical institutes and faculties. There are 39 central departments and 4 research centers in TU and 1084 affiliated colleges throughout the country.
Central Department of Mathematics (CDM), TU (www.cdmathtu.edu.np), the oldest department in the history of science education at Tribhuvan University (TU) in Nepal, was established on September 20, 1959. CDM mainly conducts graduate (MSc) and post-graduate (MPhil and PhD) programs and engages itself in academics and research activities.
Tri-Chandra (TC) Multiple Campus (https://trc.tu.edu.np) is the first national higher education institution in Nepal, established in 1918 A. D. by Chandra Shumsher. It is located at Ghantaghar Kathmandu. After the formation of Tribhuvan University in 1959 A. D, TC became a constituent campus of TU. This campus introduced science at the Intermediate level from 1919 A. D. The science teaching at Tri-Chandra was upgraded to the Bachelor level (BSc) in 1945. The Department of Mathematics of Trichandra campus is as old as the Campus itself
